Doula Ros

  • Certified Birth Doula, Doulas of North America
  • Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, Breastfeeding Pinays
  • Early childhood music and movement teacher, Kindermusik

Doula Ros Padua acquired her birth doula training in Bali, Indonesia under the tutelage of 2011 CNN Hero of the Year, midwife Ibu Robin Lim, US-based midwife Katherine Bramhall, and author of Orgasmic Birth, Debra Pascali-Bonaro.  She is certified under Doulas of North America (DONA) International, the world's premiere doula organization.

She is also a Certified Breastfeeding Peer Counselor of Breastfeeding Pinays, trained under Arugaan. As part of Breastfeeding Pinays' pool of administrators, she handles the organization's own certification program and media engagements.

As the head trainer of the Pinay Doulas' workshops, she has been leading women’s circles focused on pregnancy, childbirth preparation and breastfeeding. She is currently working to be a Lamaze-Certified Childbirth Educator.

Doula Ros offers support that is from the heart and rooted in the belief that gentle birth and gentle parenting have profound impact on the child, the mother, the whole family, and society as a whole.  As a breastfeeding mother and counselor, she has seen the healing power of community support, of women coming together in sisterhood and friendship to share and continue the wisdom of our foremothers coupled with evidence-based practices.

She is an all-inclusive birth keeper and will support your birth choices. It is her aim to provide you with educational resources and materials to help you make informed decisions. As a woman who gave birth via cesarean section, she believes and knows first-hand how women who give birth via c-section need more support.

Aside from being a birth keeper, Doula Ros is a teacher at Kindermusik, an early-childhood music and movement program. She is also a child-rights advocate and trainer having previously worked with UNICEF, Save the Children, Probe Media Foundation, and the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC).
