I had the privilege of travelling to Washington DC with my family in the winter of 2019. Even with so many sights to see, I couldn’t pass up the chance to visit to the Lamaze International head office, and meet the people behind the organization. Fun fact: the Lamaze office is walking distance from the White House! Hahaha!
It was a quick but meaningful visit, especially for a relatively new Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) like me. I am certainly happy to represent the Philippines as one among only a handful of Lamaze educators. It was nice to share with the team a quick background about the situation of chilbirth education in the country and how we at the Pinay Doulas Collective are trying to elevate childbirth education through training and certification.
